Steve has done several improvements and repairs to our vintage log cabin. He replaced the shower and replaced and repaired walls of an attached shed. No mean feat considering its age, 70 yrs. He cleaned logs in preparation for resealing and made the arrangements for the log conservation people and the roofers. The most recent job was replacing countertops in the kitchen. Steve really listens and understands what the owner wants. He offers suggestions, but is not pushy and understands budgetary constraints. This is what I like best about him. I have been very pleased with his work. He is personable and very easy to work with, as is Jackie who is very helpful.

We’ve been fortunate to have Steve Cuson and Sweetwater Contracting as part of our “contractor family “ for over 10 years. When we first moved to the area, our realtor recommended Steve for the various projects that he successfully completed for her. Our very first project was a major house expansion including a master bedroom, garage addition, bath, closet, and laundry room. We’ve been working with him ever since. Over the years, our other projects have included: a major kitchen remodel, living room and cabinetry updates, building a private library, lower level remodel, large deck replacement, and this past summer exterior house restaining.
To us, Steve and his company are unique in the way they work with you on your projects. His knowledge of current building components, creative ideas, and total involvement makes him our contractor of choice and also a trusted friend. The projects are completed on a timely basis, costs are always explained and fair, and he gives you a daily update on what is to be expected and then what was accomplished. These are extremely valuable communications skills, especially during the stressful times of construction. Whenever we have a major project or routine challenge, he is always available to discuss, explain, and recommend options and solutions.

Since moving north in 1999 Steve of Sweet Water Contracting has done ALL the remodeling in our B&B/home, which was originally a barn built about 1850. Steve’s work is excellent and he is always up for the challenge this house puts forth. He comes on the date agreed upon, completes the job on schedule and cleans up before leaving each day. The projects he has done for us include building 2 new bathrooms, 1 bedroom, tiled a fireplace, installed a 100 years old tin ceiling in our kitchen, created a bathroom in our basement with a glass wall shower to accent the stone foundation, replaced our front door, and new wood floor in the kitchen.
